My Contribution

I conceived, researched and wrote the article, combining historiographical research, dramaturgical analysis and theoretical investigation to examine the formative role of parody in Brazilian theatre. The study integrates primary sources, historical documentation and contemporary critical theory to propose a new perspective on parody as a central element in Brazilian theatrical culture.

Project Overview

This peer-reviewed article investigates the relationship between parody and the development of Brazilian theatre, arguing that parodic practice played a fundamental role in shaping both theatrical authorship and the very notion of Brazilian theatre. Drawing on theatre historiography, cultural studies and contemporary theories of parody, the study examines how parody functioned not merely as a comic device, but as a creative and formative force in the construction of Brazilian theatrical culture.
