My Contribution
I conceived, researched and wrote the book, conducting extensive archival research in Brazil and Portugal throughout my doctoral studies. The work involved historical investigation, analysis of primary sources and the development of an original critical perspective on Alda Garrido's artistic legacy.
Project Overview
Alda Garrido: The Many Faces of a Brazilian Popular Actress is the published version of my doctoral research in Performing Arts. The book reconstructs the artistic trajectory of Alda Garrido (1895–1970), one of the most remarkable figures in Brazilian popular theatre, combining historical research, archival investigation and critical analysis to examine her contribution to Brazilian theatre history. The publication expands discussions on performance, popular comedy and theatre history.
